From Daniel Webster Elementary School on I believe 37th and Pierce streets, to Bailly Jr. High school way over on Georgia Street in south East Glen Park (if that even WAS Glen Park way over there) to Lew Wallace High School over on Ridge Road east of Harrison, my school days were the best. Although my scholarly endeavors in the autumn of my life show me so much more, we got the basics, made lifelong friends, loves, good habits, bad habits, favorite subjects, found we were good at some things and bad at others. I found my niche in music. Being very shy and self conscious, I felt buried and safe inside a choir up on the risers. Then as my confidence grew, parts came my way in productions on stage. I loved my teachers, my fellow students, feared others, was intimidated and exhilarated at various intervals. I found that others saw me in various lights, always puzzling to myself, whose self image was a bit tarnished – too skinny, buck teeth till braces came along, still too skinny, etc etc blah blah. Wish those were my only problems today lol. So without further ado, and much ado about much of nothing and a lot about everything I loved, I saved scraps, dance cards, dance programs, program programs, sheet music, all scanned by my ever and long suffering husband a few years back, thank you Karl, love you forever even though we are apart for now. OK, Webster, Bailly, Wallace freaks, here is a jumble of junk you may recall.
